Open House set for Aug. 14 in Oxford
Right Track Medical Group will celebrate the opening of its Oxford clinic with a ribbon cutting and open house Tuesday, Aug. 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event, hosted by the Oxford-Lafayette County Chamber of Commerce, will take place at 1203 Medical Park Drive, off Belk Boulevard. The public is invited to attend and tour the facility. Refreshments will be provided.
Right Track Medical Group, which began seeing patients this month, offers a physician-led approach to treating anxiety, depression and other common mental-health disorders on an outpatient basis.
Its goal is to provide same-day or next-day access to licensed care providers like psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners and therapists. The clinic sees patients ages 18 and up.
The staff of Right Track Medical Group includes Emily Grace Ames, LPC; Clark Hunt, LPC; Cindy Seal, Practice Administrator; and Katherine Pannel, DO, Psychiatrist and Medical Director.
“We are seeking to address a real need in North Mississippi,” said Dr. Katherine Pannel, psychiatrist and medical director for Right Track Medical Group.
“In our area, people who need medication for mental-health issues often have to wait weeks and drive out of town to see a psychiatrist,” she said. “Primary-care physicians have also been frustrated by not having local psychiatrists to refer to. Now these patients can get access to the care they need quickly and close to home.”
The 7,700-square-foot location, formerly home to Oxford Pediatric Group, has been fully remodeled for the new clinic, with the front section of the building completely redesigned.
Special features of the facility include private waiting rooms for individuals and families, as well as private offices for conversations about billing and insurance.

"We’re all familiar today with the HIPAA rules that guard patient privacy at hospitals and clinics,” she said. “There are federal regulations that hold mental healthcare to an even higher privacy standard. We took that responsibility very seriously in setting up all aspects of Right Track Medical Group’s practice and facility.”
Right Track Medical Group’s services include psychiatric evaluation and medication management, as well as short-term individual and family therapy, and coping skills groups.
