Katherine Pannel Named 'Best Psychiatrist'

Dr. Katherine Pannel, psychiatrist and medical director for Right Track Medical Group, was recently recognized as ‘best psychiatrist’ as part of Best of Oxford 2019.
The Best of Oxford award is the city of Oxford’s longest running popularity poll, according to The Oxford Eagle. Citizens pick the best of categories including psychiatrists, nurse practitioners and pediatrician.
The results for Best of Oxford 2019 were announced early July in the Oxford Magazine.
Pannel said she was delighted when she learned of the award and expressed gratitude to those who voted for her.
“Having the support of the Oxford community means so much,” she said. “We have worked hard to build our new practice over the first year. It is such a privilege to advance the cause of mental health for people in Mississippi.”
Pannel serves as psychiatrist and medical director at Right Track Medical Group, an outpatient mental health clinic which opened July 2018 in Oxford. Since then the clinic has grown to provide mental health services in Tupelo, Corinth and Olive Branch.
The clinic provides convenient, quality access to licensed care providers like psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners and therapists. It provides care for patients ages 6 and up.
“Our goal is to address a real need in North Mississippi,” Pannel said.
Right Track Medical Group’s model of outpatient care starts with a same-day or next-day assessment by a licensed mental-health professional. From that initial meeting comes a tailored treatment plan for focused outpatient care over several weeks or months. The plan may include medication management or therapy sessions, or often a combination of both.
